Attention students applying for the graduation exam!
As announced in the academic calendar, applications for the graduation exam must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered. Students applying for the graduation exam must submit the graduation exam application form and their transcripts to the department chair via email (mimblm@yildiz.edu.tr).
Students applying for the graduation exam must specify the course, group, semester, and supervising faculty member in their application letters.
The graduation exam application form is provided below.
The graduation exam schedule will be announced on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Graduation exams will be held on July 9, 2026.

As specified by the University Senate decision: “For students who have no more than two courses remaining for graduation, graduation exams will be held on the dates specified in the academic calendar for their failed courses (excluding courses such as Professional Training in Businesses, Internships, and Capstone Projects ) on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot graduate because their cumulative GPA is below 2.00 may take the graduation exam for up to two courses in which they have received a conditional pass. (Amended by Senate Decision No. 12-04 dated December 19, 2023.)" In accordance with this provision, students may not apply to take the graduation exam for the KOOP and Internship courses, Architectural Design 7 (MT7), or the Capstone Project.
PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE YILDIZ TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY GRADUATION EXAM
(Adopted by Senate Resolution No. 2013/03-26 dated February 7, 2013.)
- To be eligible to take the graduation exam, students must have met the requirements to take the end-of-semester exam for the relevant course. Students who are ineligible to take the graduation exam will not be granted the right to take a make-up exam for this exam.
- When a student applies to take a graduation exam, the system automatically records the language in which the course was originally taken (Turkish if the course was taken in Turkish, or English if taken in English). However, if the course was taken in different languages during different semesters, the student must select the language for the graduation exam prior to the exam. A student enrolled in a program where instruction is provided entirely or partially in a foreign language may, in order to fulfill the foreign language credit requirement necessary for graduation, may choose the language of these courses from their program’s foreign language for the graduation exam, provided they take the Social Elective/University Social Elective course(s) in Turkish and do not fail them with an F0 grade. - For students with no more than two courses remaining until graduation, a graduation exam will be administered on the dates specified in the academic calendar to address failed courses and foreign language credit deficiencies, excluding the courses listed in Article 2 (such as Professional Training in Businesses, Internships, and Capstone Projects, etc. ) to address failed courses and foreign language credit deficiencies. (Amended by Senate Resolution No. 08-12 dated September 12, 2024.)
- To pass the graduation exam, students must earn a grade of at least CC. The grade received on the exam replaces the course grade for that course. Midterm exams and in-semester assignments are not included in the evaluation.
- Grades of DC or lower received on the graduation exam will not be considered. Therefore, the student’s grade for the relevant course will remain as it was prior to taking the graduation exam.
- Students who have a course they have never taken before, or who have received an F0 grade in any course—even if they have taken it—cannot take the graduation exam for any course.
- After applications are received, applications from students that do not comply with the Graduation Exam Regulations will not be considered; if such students take the exam by mistake, their exam results will be deemed invalid.
- Students with a weighted cumulative GPA (AGNO) of 2.00 or higher may take the exam only for the courses in which they have failed.
- Students with a weighted cumulative GPA (WCGPA) below 2.00 may take the exam only in courses they have passed conditionally. Since a student may take exams for a maximum of two courses, the total number of failed courses and conditionally passed courses they select cannot exceed two. To register for the exam of a conditionally passed course, a student must first register for the failed course, if applicable.
- For the semester in which they will take the graduation exam, students who have not selected any courses but intend to take the graduation exam must pay the contribution fee and tuition for the semester in which they will take the exam. (Added by Senate Decision No. 01-06 dated April 16, 2015.)
