Objectives

The Department of Architecture at Yıldız Technical University aims to train professionals possessing the following qualities:

  • Competence in Theory and Practice: Ability to create environments that meet aesthetic, technical, ecological, and other requirements; capacity for creative, analytical, and innovative thinking.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Professional Ethics: Ability to collaborate across disciplines; commitment to professional ethical values and continuous education; multifaceted, self-confident, honest, harmonious with society and self, self-critical, impartial, and original.
  • Understanding Human-Building Relationships: Capacity to comprehend the relationships between people and buildings, evaluate buildings in their surrounding environment, understand the relationship between building/space and human scale and requirements, and possess awareness and responsibility regarding architectural heritage.
  • Aesthetic and Technical Proficiency in Design: Ability to meet both aesthetic and technical requirements within the design process.
  • Knowledge of Architectural Theory and History: Understanding of architectural theory, history, and related arts, technologies, and human sciences.
  • Urban Design and Planning Knowledge: Familiarity with urban design and planning processes.
  • Understanding the Impact of Fine Arts: Knowledge of fine arts and their influence on the quality of architectural design.
  • Awareness of the Profession and Its Societal Role: Understanding of the architecture profession and the role of architects in society.
  • Research and Evaluation Methods: Knowledge of methods related to research and evaluation in architectural design.
  • Building Design Knowledge: Awareness of structural systems, construction technologies, construction techniques, and engineering problems related to building design.
  • Understanding Physical Environment Issues: Knowledge of physical environment issues and technologies related to comfort conditions.
  • Information on Industrial Sectors and Processes: Familiarity with industrial sectors, organizations, regulations, and processes involved in translating design concepts and user requirements into buildings and integrating architectural plans with overall planning.

  • Project Finance and Management: Understanding of project financing, management, and cost control.
